The Audria M. Edwards Scholarship Fund was established in 1987 by her children, Woody Johnson a.k.a. Lady Elaine Peacock and Misty Waters. The Scholarship is administered by Peacock Productions Inc. and is available to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community and/or the children of gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender persons who reside in Oregon and/or Southwest Washington.

Applicants must be pursuing their education through the post-secondary level and require financial assistance to that end.

This scholarship fund is intended solely for under-graduate students. Students pursuing education higher than a bachelor's degree will not be eligible for awards from this fund.

Donations and Sponsorships are the primary funding source for this scholarship.

CRITERIA
To be eligible for this scholarship, a candidate must:

Be gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender; or the child of gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender parent(s).

bullet

Reside in Oregon or Southwest Washington (Clark, Cowlitz, Lewis, Pacific, Skamania or  Wahkiakum Co.) for at least one year prior to submitting an application.

bullet

Be pursuing his/her education through the post-secondary level in one or more of the following areas: Academic,  trade, vocational or the arts.

bullet

Demonstrate a need for financial assistance.

bullet

Be accepted for enrollment to, or be enrolled in an accredited program beyond the secondary educational level.

bullet

Provide evidence of the potential to successfully complete his/her selected program of study.

METHOD OF SELECTION
Advisory committee members of the Audria M. Edwards Scholarship Fund will review the application of each candidate. Personal interviews will be required for application finalists. The recipients of the Scholarship will be chosen upon completion of personal interviews based upon:

1)  Apparent financial need,
2)  Ability to meet the eligibility guidelines, and
3)  Clarity of educational objectives.

Scholarship application deadline is May 1st without exception!
